Thumbs down Uninstalled Limewire-How Do Stop Sharing now?

Hello:

I tried out Limewire and it didn't work too well. Plus i'm very suspect of the fact that you are forced to have a shared folder. So I uninstalled the application.

Now I whenever I'm connected to the web Limewire sees my connection and tries to share from my computer. This is eating up my bandwidth and making me crazy.

Does anyone have a fix for this situation?

Open Limewire, go to the OPTIONS setting and set it to not share. I do not share because I do have a slow connection. Try this and see.

Default real problem is Code Red Worm

hi,

thanks for your help. i have now completely uninstalled Limewire. it really sucks compared to the old macster/napster. c'est la vie

i think i figured out the real problem though. now this i'm not positive about but i think once i did the file sharing with limewire it made my IP address seem like a server. so then the Code Red worm started to prob it. now i'm constantly targeted as a host. it never gets through because i'm not hosting and i'm using a Mac and i've got a firewall in place. But it still sucks because i'm getting like 50-75 probs an hour which is sucking up all my bandwidth. I definitely see a slow down in my connection.

anyone else experiencing the same thing? any suggestions to get it to stop?...aside from dont use the web???

thanks!
