It is far easier for the unwary to fall into a web site selling snake oil (fake products) than to find a legitimate site for products you actually want.

Since there is no way to get a message to novices to beware, I suggest that anyone who knows someone that is going to venture onto the internet for the first time to warn them of the inherent dangers. Also, advise first time users not to spend more than £5.00 (UK) or $10.00 (US) the first time they buy something from an internet site, that way they will find out if the site is legitimate or not.
