Lord of the Rings has a distinguished reputation

Of course another way is to set the default to open your mp3's with another app. ie: select an mp3 on our desktop, go to File>Properties>Open with... & select an alternative app. Whether this suits your needs is something else. Or else make Winamp the default but if it shows the same symptoms then do the 1st suggstion.
