how do i clear my search bar?

Are you talking about autocomplete? This is where you type in the 1st letter or 2 & the search field fills the rest in. Press the search button above & type autocomplete in the search. I've posted instructions on how to disable this.
For previous search results, all you need to do is click on that little red cross at the top left of each search. This will delete them.
