Hello and Welcome to the LimeWire forums!

You might not have setup LimeWire to share your music. To share files, you need to go to the menu bar in LimeWire and click Tools then come down to Options. When the Options window comes up click sharing, then click the browse button to choose the folder of music you want to share.

WARNING: Do not share your entire hard drive or your whole computer may be exposed. Only share files which you want anyone in the world to see.

You can share files other ways than the one I mentioned. <http://www.limewire.com/english/content/faq.shtml#fil1> I hope this solves your problem.

I am also new to LimeWire and have a simple and similar question which I haven't been able to find an answer to. I have about 20 files in my shared folder at this point but LimeWire says I am sharing 159 files. What other files am I sharing? I went to the Options menu as was just advised but did not see how to "browse" my sharing options. Any suggestions are appreciated.... thanks.

Ludite, you should open LimeWire and click the Library tab, there will be a folder on the left hand side of the Library window that says "Shared," which contains all the files you are sharing. You should look to make sure you are not sharing more files then you want to have shared.

I forgot to mention that when you open Options in LimeWire and click Sharing, there is a button that says Add. Click the Add button to choose the folder of music you want to share. Sorry about that.

newerguy, It is normal for LimeWire to say "Turbo changed" Could you provide some more information to what your problem is? Thanks.

I hope this helps both of you.

newerguy,

You should start by sharing a few files fist to see if it works. You should make a folder on your hard drive and call it "Shared." Drag a few MP3 files to it (2-3 is fine) and open LimeWire. When LimeWire opens go to Tools > Options > Sharing.

Next click the Add button, you will see a window that says "Select Directory." Go to the pull down menu and go to your hard drive. You will see a list of files, scroll though the list and find the "Shared" folder you just made, select it and click the Select button. When you see the Options window click the OK button. Those files will now be shared. I hope this helps.
