I just downloaded limewire, and my first time downloading about 100 IE popups appeared one after another. i had to turn off my computer to stop them. what the h-ell is up with that?

If not then you've been scammed. Where did you get it from? I'd suggest you downld the official version of LW! |

Yes, i downlaoded it from that site... From there i clicked 'basic version,' then i clicked that i had 'windows,' and then it brought me to download.com where i downloaded it... does that right??

I presume you have ad-ware http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ & Search & Destroy http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html & as well as a decent anti-virus app.
Might be worth finding out if you've picked up some nasties from somewhere. wma & wmv are easily corrupted files due to their drm which can incorporate links to sites, advertising, & even viruses. The other alternative is a document you've downlded from somewhere Or a site you've visited. |
