If you're happy with LW Basic then stick to it. If you'd like to support the LW development then get Pro the help the developers out.
There's no dramatic improvements with Pro. One noticeable thing is you connect to 5 UP's instead of 3 with the basic version. Your LW connection quality should generally be in the Turbo mode which gives more reliability for searching. You also get 6 months updates & customer support. Don't hope for wild increases in performance b/c you won't get them. Some people have suggested free is better than pro. But then the others have been more than happy with pro. And no update to pro window when you open LW.
