Default No 80 Bitrate Playback

When downloading mp3 audio, I cannot preview or playback any download at 80 bitrate. All higher bitrates work fine. I am using limewire free version, a modem, Windows XP, Windows Media Player 10. The playback progress indicator shows the file processing, but no sound. Can anyone offer any insight

Any song with a bitrate of 80kbps is not even worth listening to. I never download any song with a bitrate of 128. And I always convert the song to 320kbps after I download it. So, in my opinion you shoulden't be too concerned. But the problem may acutally be with the media player. Try the free version of WinAmp and see if your problem persists. Good luck.

????
It ain't gonna sound any better if you convert a 128 to 320.
If the source is a 128 bitrate you never going to improve quality from it.
It probably even sounds less better becouse you did a extra conversion.
Not to mention the extra bandwith involved to share 128 quality with 320 filesize .
