AFI1307 if 2 file recovery utilities end up with the same results then it sounds like you've written over portions of your hard disk drive since you deleted the files. These files might not be the ones you accidentally deleted from the library but deleted at an earlier time after you'd finished with them so just continue with the recovery process until it's finished. Also don't use LW or other programs that write to the HDD until you've finished the recovery process. Otherwise you'll minimise the chances of a successful recovery. Also recover them to a different HDD or partition or storage device.

Hey, this is Hakeem, I use limewire, my operating system is windows 2000...This is my situation, I had alot of media downoalded in my LW Library and all the downloaded files were shared in a "limewire" folder in my "c" drive..it was shared with, the folder wa in my C drive.

I have'nt use it for a few weeks so when I got on to limewire today i was surprised to see that there was a problem with accessing my library on limewire, or rather there was a corruption of some kind with my shared "limewire" folder..It wanted me to reconfigure my folder options....apparently it seems all the music in my limewire folder is gone, i looked in my recycle bin and its not there...no idea what could have happenned..does anybody have any ideas as to how to find them or get them back?.Also
there is no music on my "my music" folder either...

when i try to access my library on limewire it says i need to "reconfigure" my folder, than it leads me to a page where i add folders to where my downloaded music will go but even when i changed to "my music" theres still nothing there...when i click on the "share" tab where my library should open up it says "you can configure folders u share in limewire options"

so when i click on the tab "configure" it brings me to a small menu where i add or remove folders to put my music in, but there is nothingin my "limewire" folder where my music is supposed to be...wierd huh?......is it possible it just lost everything?..i tried searching my computer for some of the songs i dowloaded recently but nothing is found....would deleted recovery programs work if theres nothing in my recycle bin and if I'm not the one who deleted anything?

Any Links to sites that can help or suggestions will be greatly apreciated..Thanx everyone

Answered via PM; As long as you did not press the Delete button you are ok. It just means the save location has changed to default. Best thing to do is use your computer search function to find which folder they are in, then reselect that folder as the save folder under Tools > Options> Saving. Perhaps see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/window...downloads.html

However, if you did press the Delete button, then you will need a file recovery program. I'd suggest stop using any program on your computer until you recover the files so they will not be overwitten. See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/open-d...ry-advice.html

Hello, I accidentally deleted about 800 songs off limewire and when i went to the recovery site they recover the work but you have to pay for it once they found it. Does anybody know were I can find an absolute free site?

Links in the last link in my post above ... file recovery advice. ;) Some free programs there. :)

Restoration used to be better than PC Inspector, but others posted about since. :)
Important thing is to try not write to that same partition on your hard disk drive until after you try recovering the files. ;)

Can you tell me which ones are free because ever one i go tries to charge me before letting me save it and pc inspect isnt doing anything. thanks

Restoration - Free software downloads and reviews - CNET Download.com erm you didn't check through the links very well. :p

Recuva - Undelete, Unerase, File Recovery - Home (should do the trick)

I think you're just lazy. :p

Initial free use: Recover Lost data RecoverMyfiles

have u used the file recovery software urself?

Lord of the Rings December 4th, 2008 05:22 PM

Me? I use a mac, and yes I have on the mac many times. I used Norton Utilities & their equivalent which was very good. However it is a commercial program. (Unfortunately Norton no longer supports the newer OSX versions, their support stopped at OSX 10.3)
