I have noticed that the movies that I have been able to download and play in my media player have been only the wmv and mpg type. Whenever I download an Avi, it doesn't let me play it because I don't have the codec,whatever that is. Can someone enlighten me on what exactly a codec is, and how I can go about getting the right one(s) to play whatever movies I choose to download? I am sharing all of the three movies that I have downloaded,lol. But I would like to have more to watch, and to share. But I don't know anything about this codec thing, even when going to a search page for Avi's. I think I need the dummies explanation on what it is and how to go about using it. I have a new computer, so I don't think I'd have any problems using Avi's, whatever they are :-/. Thankyou for any help you can give me.

You'll want to get the DivX codec. I too have .avi files that needed that specific codec.
