S**t another sucker been scammed! Hi I have just found this forum and so wish I had found it before! I have been scammed today by emule.org, I was searching for emule as had heard it was OK and I have been having trouble finding stuff with Limewire recently. I signed up only to find it had charged me the extra for spyware or something that I didn't ask for and that doesn't work on a Mac anyway. The only software offered was Limewire which I have, BitTorrent which is free and some other thing that didnt work. I didn't realise immeditely that I had been scammed just thought I was being stupid or there was a problem cos I use a Mac. Anyhow after I realised I tried to find contact details, absolutely sod all on the sites, I had to log onto the members area where there was supposed to be a web chat but this wasn't on, maybe cos its the weekend and there were no phone numbers or email addresses! So can anyone help me with some contact details for emule.org which is where I started from but it went to some other site called filesharingcenter.com. I phoned my bank and they said they couldn't stop the payment as I paid with a debit card, but if I sent them details they may be able to do something. I am not sure if this is the same company as some others on this thread under a different name. So if anyone has a number that would be great, I want to try and get my 30 quid back! Carole |

Can you check your browser history to get the exact site address. Is this the site? http://emule.org/ If yes then try the contact details. BTW did you know LW beta 4.13 now has torrent support. Other than that, Azureus is best for mac. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azureus. If you need tips about the torrents then send me a message by clicking on my username. Yes that was the site, I have just reset my Safari actually as it has gone weird since all this happened earlier today, I can't get onto hotmail now through Safari so maybe something dodgy has downloaded! I did go onto the contact details and all it does is take you back to the sign up page to take out membership!!! Good work you are doing as unpaid forum helper!! If I had the knowledge I would do it too! I don't really know anything about torrents!! So still searching for contact details for emule.org also known as filesharingcenter.com. Maybe the live chat thing will work next week when the holidays are over. Thanks again |

filesharingcenter.com I believe is also mentioned on here (p.5 I think) Known Scam Sites (click on link) That 'sign-in' scenario seems to be the same on all their links on that page. Check the contact one & see if you can actually send a message after entering your member name, etc. (except for any credit card bizo) Since you know it's filesharingcenter.com then check their other links from this site & look for contact details there (look for them on the link above.) Sorry ... normally I'd research this myself for you. |

Hi Well it looks like I may have resolved my scam in one email! I hope so anyway. I finally managed to connect to their mail service thing on the filesharingcenter website and said I was dissatisfied and wanted a full refund and got this reply: John H 1/3/2007 8:20:42 AM Dear Customer, Thank you for the email. We apologize if this membership did not fulfill your expectations. As requested, we have processed the full refund. Please visit www.marketbill.com to check the refund status. Sincerely, Your Customer Service Team So fingers crossed will get the refund! Thanks for the help and advice Lord of The Rings. I will certainly be more careful what I buy in the future!!!
