 a byte (B) is 8 bits (b). So 7 KB (kiloBYTES) is 56 kb (kiloBITS), since 7*8=56. Confusing, eh?  Anyways, your modem connection is really good. Usually a person rarely gets their theoretical maximum, because of line conditions, and many other factors. Your modem connections are really good if you usually get the full 7KB.  |
