Hello folks, I do hope somone can help me. I have limewire 4.9.23pro installed on my p.c and i have been asked to update to a newer version, I did this and was then asked to purchase pro but i have pro already so i uninstalled the new one and went back to the old version as i do not want to pay again because i have only just paid for this 4.9.23 version.

Can anyone tell me what i have to do please as i think it is wrong that i should have to pay again to have pro.

After purchasing Pro, you get 6 months worth of free updates. Normally if you get a message that says there's an update available then you can just click the LW link & update. But there's been a small bug in the past few days in the http link that has meant people clicking it have ended up with the basic version (see et voilà's reference http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...949#post161949 ) but it should already have been fixed up. If not, at least for the moment go to your personal Pro downld page (I hope you bookmarked the page, most people do) & downld the new version.

It is quite possible, like so many people before you, that you have LW Basic, which you purchased via a scam site, thinking that you were buying LW Pro.

Mouse click "Help" to find out whether you have Pro or Basic.

I have checked that and it is definetly pro version i have and i purchased it from the limewire site direct so i dont think it was a scam.

Will it matter if i keep running my old version anyway

No it will not matter if you keep running your old one but 4.9.23 did not come out 6 months ago. How long ago did you purchase pro if it hasn't been more than 6 months you should be able to upgrade for free.

I only purchased it about a month ago although i do not know where to get the free updates from and i have now reinstaled my previous version and i am not being asked to update anymore which i find a bit strange.

Anyway my old version seems to be working fine and it is the pro version so i think i will leave well alone.
