I've noticed that on both my sheity dsl connection and my phat cable connection at home i tend to get around 60 kB/sec download speeds. is the free version of limewire capped at 60? thx. limewire rocks.

Whats wrong with 60k? Im on broadband and Im lucky if I get to go at 20k. LW doesnt cap bandwidth that I know of. Only your ISP can cap bandwidth.

No it is not caped I no longer use basic much but the last time I check I could get 650KB/s

I can only dream of 60k. If Im lucky to get a few sources online at the sametime the highest Ive ever gone was 30k. so, I know my ISP is capping our cable bandwidth. if its one host roughly 20k and under. Lucky for me I only dl music.

i normally get around 320KB/s on large popular files.

Hopefully, when we move outta the Northeast which, wont be anytime too soon but, luckily I downloaded like mad during my Napster days so, Im not starved for music.
