Multiple connections at once

While downloading a large file with partial file sharing enabled. I noticed that it was being uploaded in most of my available slots. The next day after it was fully downloaded, all 10 upload slots were for the same file and one uploader was on there twice. Is it possible to simultaneously download from a connection more than once? This isn't the only file that I noticed was being uploaded by most of my available slots.

I just thought it odd the same file was in such demand while I downloaded it. Also a little paranoid "The Man" may be trying to back door me. I won't loose any sleep over it, just curious.

I'm thinking it may be different users using the same ultrapeer, could this be?

I have seen my files being uploaded simultaneously by more than one host ... So Yes afaik this is quite possible.

I think you may find that where you saw the same host twice, that one of the files might have read "upload limit reached, or the sum of the two, if incomplete, added up to 100%. If a Limewire user tries to upload the same file twice in parrallell, he will not be able to do it. I think this applies to Phex too.

I've certainly seen the same host listed more than once in queue a no. of times, but can't remember if I've seen them downlding the same file at the same time. I can only afford 2 upld slots open on my bandwidth anyway. So that makes it hard to check properly. And I always have big queues (whoops ... )

did you look at the ip, or the username?

since if the ip is different it's actually a different person or at the verry least a different connection (ie, dsl and cable on one computer, and yes that IS possible, it workslike **** but it is possible)

Out of my 10 upload slots about 6 or 7 were for the same exact file I was in the process of DL, I don't remember if they were at different progress %ages. It just seemed odd.

some files are verry much wanted, others are not.
