I'm afraid it does. I would try to stop your payment or get a refund, but this may be difficult depending on how long ago it was. Let us know if we can be any more help. You can of course download Limewire basic from www.limewire.com for free, and I hope you will!, and I have a sneaky feeling this is what you will find you have on your other computer. |

Oh ... I must be a slow typer lol :D |
limewire I got a response from allcoolmusic.com and they say they use limewire also for filesharing....also they provide tools to help with search, downloads etc. So I was just wondering why you two don't associate with each other? bess |
Because Allcoolmusic are "users". They don't own or did they create Limewire (LW). But they sell the FREE version at almost double the price of the pro version. And they send their members here for help. Help they didn't pay for. Since when did Allcoolmusic give me any money or rewards for helping on the forum? It's the equivalent of me selling copied CD's. ie: making money out of something I don't own the copyright to, or perform on. I'm sure they would sell non-existent insurance or drugs if they couldn't think of anything else to sell. The LW organisation don't get a cent of money from Allcoolmusic. Yet the LW org. develops the program. Businesses like ACM are leeches IMO. Excuse the strong words, but I despise what they have done to cheat so many people out of their money for something they could have got for free anyway. At no time on their website do they say, look go to the official site & you can get it for free. What they do is mislead people. And they trick them by advertising with unlimited downlds, all the movies, games & music you want, lifetime memberships, etc. Lifetime membership to the free version of LW. :( No, con artists are not my type of people. |
limewire Yes, you are right to all the above, but yet they are "users" of limewire.... and no they don't tell about the free download version...but also without them I would not have heard about limewire....And now that I did I will be swapping after my year is up. So thanks, I still do feel stuck and cheated but they do offer tools to download that otherwise I would have to purchase or search for with little effort to find on the net.... Thanks :o bess |
I dont mean to be rude but the tools and all software they provide you are all free downloads and if by chance they keep charging your card in the upcoming months you will then think their not ok. Dont let them get away with it...... |

1. CODECs list and alternate players for Movies (almost ALL are free) 2. (A) ad-ware (FREE), _ (B) Spybot - Search & Destroy (FREE) _ (C) Peerguardian (FREE) * Sorry if the tone sounds hard, we're only trying to help you. And not let you become an ongoing victim. You could have it all for free. ;) |
Thats right LOTR, Im agreeing as I to was a victim of one of those sites, maybe a solution to the problem would be LW having a web site which is right along side of the rip off ones. When I was searching for a download site I typed movie downloads into google and all the rip offs are there one after another all you do then is pick the that sounds honest, they even have a top ten site telling you that there the ligit ones. As many others before me who havn't heard of LW this could be a solution which then would stick it right up the scammers lol. Catch u later....:D |
I think the truth is, is that anyone can be scammed! The only thing that saved me is that I knew a friend at work that had already downloaded a p2p app. and I knew he didn't pay for it. So i kept searching until I found the free ones. I almost bought into the $.99 a month all you can d/l site, but I knew that wasn't right. Alot of people don't, and it"s really not their fault.(you only know what you know, and what you don't you don't) So go easy on the newbies. Thanks for the rant:). |
6 Pac I am almost sympathetic to your post, you are right when you point out that a person “only know what they know” but we all have a certain amount of common sense and we all have the ability to check things out before parting with our money. The problem, as I see it, is that newbies do not do any checks at all and seem to suffer from “common sense” failure. It looks like scamming sites are on the increase, specifically there to prey on the ever-increasing number of newbies charging onto the internet, I suppose what it will eventually come down to, as in nature, is the survival of the fittest.
