I have just upgraded to v 4.9.37 pro and limewrie keeps closing down randomly. sometimes it stays on long eneough to down load things other times it closes down very quickly. Doesn't seem to be any logic or trigger. I was on 4.0.8 pro and never had any problems. I see a few other posts about this. Does anybody have a solution yet?

What version of Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. Make sure you have at least Java version 1.4.2

Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 in Fixes for Limewire (sample at bottom of page.)

My JRE is 1.5.05. Kept right up to date as I use it for my VNC.
When i'm back at my limewire PC I'll try deleting the .limewire and let you know the result.
