![]() All the sudden I can't open Limewire pro. I will double click the link and right click and "open", but LimeWire never opens. I tried Uninstalling and Re-installing but nothing happens. Nothing has changed, just one day it works, the next it doesn't. Any Ideas? |

![]() Try steps #1 & 2 here Fixes for Limewire which involves uninstalling your Java using the add/remove control panel. Then reinstalling using the "Offline" installer. If Java 1.5 doesn't do the trick, then try 1.4.2

![]() I'm pretty sure that my Java is all screwed up. When I try to install a newer version of Java, my windows installer says "preparing to install" for about 20 minutes until I get some sort of error message. I'm going to have to reset my computer to the factory setting in order to get everything working again. You don't know a way I can save all my files do you, and have them reappear when I reinstall Limewire. Thanks for your help. |

![]() I'd recommend you backup your files onto an external disk or dvd or cd. Uninstall Java, & use the "Offline" install versions. It's made a difference to many people with similar problems. Installing Java online often means incomplete/corrupt installations. I've seen the Java error page & the online installation errors has been around as long as java's been around. It happens to everyone who uses Java not just p2p users. I also noticed the Java downlds was offline a day or 2 ago. Which means they were probably overloaded for downld requests. ie: Their server couldn't cope with the requests.
