Is downloading this stuff legal?

I joined through imusic for the 30 whatever dollars lifetime fee and was under the impression all of this was legal. Now pretty much everything I look at it says it cannot find a license for and that I need to check local laws??? Can anyone tell me if this is all good? I don't need to be sued by a billion dollar record company, lol.
