If I burn as "data" will it still play back on a mp3 player or home cd player ?
I only have my MP3s stored on my laptop & data disks. I dont have any MP3 players.

For myself, it was easier to use Nero 6 Express for data burns so I can backup all my software, videos & music on blank disks. I backed up my entire drive with just a few disks.

So you play them back on a normal CD type stereo or whatever, using data burnt disks ?

I wonder if Peerless could do that on just a few disks! lol

As stated earlier, normal audio cd players will NOT play mp3 disks. You'd need a player which supports mp3. Or an mp3 player plugged into the stereo system. Or as I do, burn to dvd & play thru the set-top dvd player -> Stereo system. And yes it has a menu system on the disk (viewed thru TV.) At least it does the way I burn them. Choose artist, album ...

I use my little ole Dell laptop for my entertainment center. I use Windows Media Player 9x for everything, music & videos. I dont have much music, just some disks and they each have about 100 songs on them. I pop em into my drive and I play them directly in Windows Media Player. I do have some stored for sharing in Limewire.

For movies, I use the codecs in WMP and I dont even think about it. I burn all my bought software, freeware, music & full length movies. In under ten disks, I have stored much data without any problems. Nero is the best in my opinion for burning.

to rip mp3s using nero you need a plug-in, i have it and i share it over the gnutella network so do a search for :

nero mp3encoder plugin

as i am sure others will probably being sharing too.

i rip all my audi cd's as i then put them onto just a few mp3 cds.
plus i manage to scratch cds in about a day so i always got backup copies...

i use burn data.. simply because i never realised the was the mp3 option! i think that must have been added in on the update or something...
as far as i am aware both should work, just try it. cd's cost pennys nowadays so its just trial and error my friend.

wav. cant help you, never done it. haven't even got that option!
if you mean normal audio, you click on make audio cd.
