I am appauled that there is still child porn available on limewire. I was downloading a video, so I thought, and low and behold. Two very young children, girl and boy, in a very nasty setup. Well now I am on my 4th monitor and had to get a cast for my hand. The wife told me to just get rid of limewire. I like limewire because i can download a lot of Indie music and actually like the searches that are found off the net.

Yeah I know grow up. I have a 2 children as well. Is there anywhere i can report an IP that I happen to come across to report it or is it really true that they only want ppl with hoards. I also noticed something called "keyword edited" after i did a search of superman 2 with richard pryor. DON'T DOWNLOAD ANYTHING WITH THAT NAME. I do wish i have known before that before my $400 dollar replacement. N E WAY!! I am located in Canada and need to know where to report an IP.

This thread has many links that you can report them to. Just be careful who you report so you don't report someone innocent that just downloaded one or two files by mistake. And remember to note the time of the download since many of these perverted souls use dynamic IP's

How can you innocently download two or three files?.Okay i have been a victim of that but if it isn't what it says it is i shred it using shred it.I have reported the serious "collectors" by searching the hosts files and if they have loads i report there ip.Saying that there was a case recently here locally where a guy was using limewire to download child porn images and when the file was downloaded he was changing the name [right click rename] and the police found 300 files all called things like disney 1 or childrens movie this is evil people innocently searching for disney clips/trailers/cartoons are downloading them and finding child porn.I report them.Scum.

I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like that. Maybe because I don't usually download children's movies + I am a long time user of Limewire, so I know how to search pretty well.

I also use the Keyword Filter to filter words that imply anything KP related, so most of the results you are talking about never show up in any of my searches. Mislabeled files are off course not that easy to block, but I have been lucky so far. Also use Bitzi to see if the files have been rated good or bad before downloading.

I think people should report those perverts but still like I said make sure first that it in fact is someone "evil" and not some innocent person that has downloaded something of that nature by mistake.

Things like writing down the date and time of the download are very important, since dynamic IP's do change often. Also maybe taking a screen shot when you browse the host and other things like that. These things will not only prevent innocent people from getting in trouble, but will most likely help the authorities build a case against the offender

All good points,don't some other countries have different rules about this, and different age restrictions? Some eastern Countries just don't care !

The reason I didn't mention that was because I very much doubt that many people, that don't know how to avoid these files, will know what location the results come from just by looking at an IP. Or know the laws for that specific country. Also if they are using Proxy to connect through it will not be easy to decide where an IP originates. (For the normal Limewire user that is. For the autorities it is easier.)

It should be a thing for the authorities to decide, if they have any chance of pursuing these sickos or not. The fight against KP is multinational and they work together on it as far as I know.

I could careless. If someone wants to look at that stuff, more power to them! The internet is all about freedom -- freedom to look at whatever you want, whenever you want, however you want. Personally, I am not in to that sort of thing, but if someone else wants to look at it, who am I to tell them not to? And don't let anyone BS you about the "ability" of law enforcement to find someone's IP address. If you use TOR, there is no way in hell that anyone can find you. There are many other similar such services as well. Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Expression means not just seeing or hearing "good things", but also "bad things" or things that you might disagree with. No one forces you to look at this crap. I know that I don't like it, so I don't look at it. That is my free choice.

As I've read, he rules are generally the same in most (if not all) countries. The people of the countries care. They are just ignorant of what goes on. Similar to a situation where a person may not know that their neighbor is moleting his kids. Also, official are paid off. Some children are taken. and you're right traditions are different. Parents in some countries sell their children into slavery to feed the rest if the family is in dire need. They are told that their children are household helpers (maids) to rich families. The children won't run away because of duty (and shame and a lack of resources). There will alway be a supply for demand. Stop the demand and you stop the supply.
