I did revisit the site I used and when you read it carefully they are offering "access" to files & software. They do not actually say it's from them.
What they are charging for is the Technical support they offer.
They do actually deliver what they promise so I am not sure they can be stopped.
I am much more careful now in my interpretation of what sites are offering.

In my case, the site actually did advertise Limewire pro, which it did not deliver, and did advertise Mac OSX copatibility, which was false for any of its "premium" software offered.
Also, there was no means of contacting anyone to answer any questions that were not covered in their FAQs. For future consideration, I wonder how you could make sure that feature was available before paying? |
