play before download

Hi, new to this, can someone tell me if you can play the tracks before downloading them.....and how quick should a single track download if using 2 meg broadband.........(it took me 10 mins)

You can't play a track before download but you can preview it. Wait til it's downloaded maybe 20%, then click 'preview'. This way, you get to see if the sound's ok & if it's the track you're looking for.

The LW player's not the best (will give you pops & skips sometimes), you can always disable it & use another player. To disable tools > options > player, untick 'use LW player' & apply.

How long it takes to download will depend on things like your speed, connection to the host, size of the file etc

thanks birdy, but ten mins seems an awful long time for a single on 2 meg?..............hope movies are quicker.lol:

There's a sticky (in red) at the top of this section about configuring LW for optimal performance. Have a read through that, it's got lots of good tips for getting the best out of LW.
