Default Why can't I get songs into itune library?

Before my son started using my computer with limewire all my shared files of music would load automatically into my itune library. Now they load into the limewire library but not to itune. Did he change a setting or is there somthing I can do to facilitate what I want to do? Thanks.

I guess you're all Mac OSX users right? Only on mac osx can songs be automatically be imported into iTunes. If it stops, close LW & re-open LW & the problem will be solved.

If you're windows users, all you see is a LW playlist within iTunes. Although you can play these songs you cannot copy or burn these. You need to "add" them to iTunes by using one of the several techniques here How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes)

If you're concerned because the LW playlist has disappeared from iTunes, then go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>iTunes>Sharing & make sure the option is ticked to share. ALso, go to iTunes menu bar, Edit menu > Preferences >Sharing & make sure the option to share is enabled.

One technique to add songs to iTunes is to launch them. If you use this technique then it sounds like iTunes is no longer the default program. You'll need to change it back; Setting default audio program
