I have read LOTR post on viruses. I just want to know one thing. I already have a anti virus security suite set up. Does this mean that when i download a file the a-virus software will be scanned automatically? Or do i download the file and then ,before opening, run a virus scan on that particular file?
I am considering using the PANDA software that LOTR reccomended as the others require IE and ive changed to Mozilla. Do I need this if my current security suite is up to date? Thanks for any help you give! |

Hi ronin4,
You might be able to set up your AV program to automatically scan new files after they've downloaded, have a look through the program's options. I open my shared folder outside of LW & scan new files manually. If you're happy with your current security, then you don't necessarily have to go & get something new. Which AV are you using? Some AV programs won't run side-by-side with others, you'd have to check that out. |

Always scan before opening. A rule to live by, no matter what the software promises. There are just too many nasties on the network to not do that
