i burned a cd the other day. i played it on my stereo and only the first 8 songs play. there are 19 in all. today i played it again and it played up to 12 songs. i made the mistake of pressing next. as soon as i did that , the song wouldn't play. if you go to next or previous they still don't play. i tried burning a new cd with the same tunes and none would play. what is the story?

did you burn the songs in the same order?

I have found that there are some files which cause this 'problem' (and the paranoid side of me thinks its intentional)..the trick is to weed out said files, and find alternative versions...

the train of thought here is that perhaps you changed the order of your songs, and now the problem one is the first one..

i burned them in the same order as the previous. in my truck stereo it doesn't play at all. all you here is a faint clicking. the first time i tried burning these songs on wmp a pop-up appeared saying there was an error and to try again.

OK....how about this....are you using a different brand of blank media?...it is a known fact that many burners are finicky as to what media they will function with...
