I just noticed a zipped file that is listed, and it's infected. My computer is safe, but is there a place to report known infected files that show up on a search to warn other folks?

Yes, I saw that, I was just wondering if there is a list or a way to warn people, or to inform the file owner.

Also downloaded a file with a virus today(search was for a roxio program,it was the highest listed) with regards to peerguadian ,does it work in conjunction with an already existing security program ie.Avg POOH74
