when i download a video file and try to play on windows media or winamp itsgive me a codex error message, the sound will play but no picture..do i need to get a certin player to watch these files????

You can either get codecs for your WMP (the XP codec pack's good) or you could try VLC player. It has built in codecs & plays just about anything
Not sure about codecs for Winamp though.Codecs & VLC |
