Default How I can change the bit rate of my downloads? (Maybe a silly question)

Does anyone know how I can change the bit rate of my downloads? The reason I ask is because when I burn songs to a cd they seem to play better if they are all the same rate and there are time I just cannot seem to find the song at the same bit rate as the rest I wish to put on a cd.
Thanks for any help you may be able to give me

When searching audio songs, use the Audio type search, click on advanced options, choose the bit-rate column & type in the bit rate you're after.

If it's volume discrepancy that's affecting you, then try to downld all from the same host if possible such as if they are from the same artist.

Another option is ... use an audio editing program. A free one is Audacity (free - click on link if interested) which can open mp3's, then use the equaliser or normalisation options & save as WAV. Then burn them. Or perhaps save all as WAV 1st, then join them all together, normalise, then split by editing & save as separate files before burning. This might be a little difficult to master if you've never done it before.

Oops! Mucked up my link!

I use a sound recorder and record the song while its playing and save as 128 kbps. If LOTR's advice doesnt help, I'll find the link for the recorder
