Default Nothing but infected files

The last couple of weeks, I've downloaded nothing but corrupt files and infected files that cause Limewire to open on it's own. I have to restart the computer, start in safe mode and delete the file svchost.exe, size 228kb, from whatever directory it has decided to pick. Be careful of this.

If you're looking for programs: Don't download programs through Limewire unless you know exactly what youre doing.

If you're looking for video: Use bitziweb lookup to check the files before downloading.

If you're looking for music: I made this thread for people like you.

How to find music

I haven't had any problems downloading music (mp3), programs or anything else until just recently. I've actually downloadws .exe files and had no problem with most. Only until recently have I had problems. I always use a virus scan before opening files or playing music just to be on the safe side.

One reason I don't like mcaffee is when you click for it to scan a folder or a file. It scans your whole computer. Can someone help me with that?

Ive been looking for some business card software and have had the same problem.
Every file seems to carry a trojan.
Mp3s are a different story, hardly ever come across a trojan/virus whatever.
What's the reason? It occurs too often for it to be a random thing it seems to be systematic.
Same thing when I visit the code/regkey cracker sites. I've got the codes for [edit] with no trouble but as soon as I attempt to get a code for a business card application BINGO it's got a trojan.

Not a good idea to use Limewire to download programs.

Try torrents instead

BitComet is quite good. Others recommend Asureus (can't remember how it's spelled, might be wrong)
