Have you tried using another player? VLC is a good one, it will play most files. Codecs & VLC If the movie still freezes, chances are that it's a bad file. Look up movies before download with Bitzi, if the file's been rated you'll get an idea of it's quality;) How to use Bitzi |
movie freezes dont know if this is the right place to post.never done it before.a lot of my movies come in 2 parts from limewire.i have cucosoft convertor and easy video joiner but when i download onto a dvd to watch it on my dvd player it plays brilliant until it gets half way through the second part and it starts to freeze.when i take it out and play it in my dvd drive on computer it plays ok.dont understand it.could someone please help.thanx:mad: |
It sounds like the overall dvd bit rate is too high!!! Make sure audio is in dolby surround ac-3 format & that the "maximum" video bit rate does not exceed 8 or so (maximum is not average or target bit rate!!!) Certainly no higher than 8.5. Some dvd players can't handle dvd bit rates that are higher than 9. And dvd bitrates are the total of audio & video bitrates combined including menus. So aim for a "overall" bitrate of less than 8.5 Again, keep in mind maximum video bit rate when doing this. Either your video joiner or converter at fault by the sounds. Recheck their settings very carefully. ;) |
how do i do all that.sorry i am new to this.dont know where to find the bit rates. |
Read the manuals. I've never used those particular programs. There will be a settings option somewhere in the program ... perhaps preferences. |
my easy video joiner has not got any settings but cucosoft bitrates were already low so i moved them to 7.do you think being to low could have caused the problem aswell. |
No. Commercial dvd's released a few years ago were all at around 4. So I don't think so. Check the audio format. Make sure it's not set to PCM audio. PCM audio uses over 1.5 which is a little too high for movies!!! Also some players are not good at handling pcm audio believe it or not. |
