Does anyone know of a good * free * WMA file editor ?

I convert my mp3's to WMA files because my CD player can't play mp3's. Does anyone know of a good * free * WMA file editor ? It really has to be free as I am on a fixed pension.

Maybe I should have been a wee bit more specific. I'm looking for a program that will convert my mp3's to WMA files -and nothing else. I'm looking for the name of a program, and not the repository of thousands of files that may or may not do what I want to do. I've done a Google and a Yahoo search, I've checked every freeware site I know of. Nada. I've discovered hundreds of programs that will do except dance with you.

Nonags.com doesn't seem to have a program I'm looking for, and lord knows I've looked. I need the name of the program - and not simply the name of the repository.

Thanks for trying foolofthehill.

Try this one. Have no idea if or how it works though

I was just having a sticky at the link you provided Sleepless, and I think Tom has already used this one and rated it excellent, so not sure why he's asking for another ???

This is the best audio converter
I've used.
Fast, easy and fool proof.
A must have !

Can your CD player play audio CD's? lol :D Why not burn the mp3's as audio cd's. ... ok ok space reasons ... most dvd players nowadays will play mp3's, & the newer ones mp4/m4a. But I guess you have a portable CD player.

hmm maybe he forgot, just like the firewall thread he started and then nothing ??

That was me who rated the file type converter. And thats all the little beastie does. It does a crackerjack job !

I need an editor that let me cut the the excess sound at the end or the beginning of a sound file. Some of the files have something approximating music after the 2 second gap. Just a little something to help me clean up my massive ( I think it is ) collection.

Sorry for the confusion...I've had a very rough two weeks. I just had to bury my mother-in-law. Alzheimers.

Ahaa. Now that different, and I'm sorry to hear that your Mother-In-Law died. I have a grandmother that has Alzheimers. She has no idea who I am anymore.

I don't know of any that can cut wma files but if you cut them before converting to wma then I know one (really good one as well). It might work on a .wma as well, but copy the file first before trying it just incase it ruins the file.

Now that's a great tool, when you put me onto that MP3 cutter Sleepless, I haven't looked back....I make all my ring tones with it....I'm sure at the end of the editing you can export it as a WMA file, I know there's 3 options to choose from...

Tom, sorry to hear about your Mother In Law....
