'legally' speaking p2p networks cannot do anything directly against sharers of such files..if they could, the network by definition would be illegal...the gnutella network is totally decentralized, and as such is legal...to be able to in any way control the network would be a sign of 'centralization' and said network and/or clients would be deemed illegal...
