Garbage Pails !!!

When I search for a movie, very few appear as downloadable. I get tons of garbage pails for trash. I am using MAC OS10.3:mad2:

Ignore files less than 1,000 KB. In fact it would be a good idea to designate any file that's under 1,000 KB as Junk if it arrives after a search for videos. Also see Beware of Fake files in search results

And an extra tip for videos which you probably already know: Movie download issues. Oh & an extra note on filtering, you should perhaps see Direct instructions to eliminate porn from results.

Filter out the name or a part of the name. It is just spam. Try to ignore it.

I don't understand these garbage pail/junk filters at all. I have found many movies that I downloaded successfully and they are GREAT coming up as junk. I have also changed the junk designation of some of the ones I know are good, but they will come BACK as junk later. What gives and who/how makes these junk assessments? Thanks!

PS, Ronfg - I was having the same trouble with movies until I started searching for them in Bitzi. When you find one you want that is rated as acceptable, you can hit the APPLICATION IDENTIFIERS and it will put the search for that right into your LimeWire. It rocks!

What LW shows as junk is determined by your config of the junk filter. If you think too many good files are showing up as junk, you can change how strictly the filter operates...relax it more. You can also use the option to forget all training data...start from scratch again;) Tools > options > filters > junk will get you to the page.

Some people like the junk filter & some really hate it! See if this link helps...it's pretty long but has some good tips.
