Well I just downloaded it and it actually says it's 4.12.10...:shoot:
I'm also having trouble getting it to open at the moment, but I am burning a disk, so I will let you know once that is all done and I will check it out...

When I open the app back up and click Help » About Limewire, I get 4.12.8.:rolleyes:

You know, come to think of it, we might be uncovering a problem that's existed for awhile now. I can't remember the specifics, but I'm quite sure that at one point I was at a certain version level. And kept checkin' the webpage to see if there was a new version out. And there wasn't. And then, all of a sudden, I checked it again (without a lot of intervening time) and there was a new version. But the thing was, it was several versions later. I might be able to dig out the details, but I'm sure this is what I encountered.

The orange banner doesn't seem to have an option to get rid of it once veiwed, although I can see why they have put it there...

Also for excisting users that have updated all of your previous settings revert back to default and need to be customised again...

The current version of LW is 4.12.10....

So, does anyone know why different version levels were showing up for different people at different times? Now, I also see 4.12.10 when I go to the very same webpage I went to earlier.

Think my Firefox is having a filp-out.
I see the 4.12.10 now with IE.

birdy, I don't think it was your browser. I see 4.12.10 now too... but I didn't see it earlier using the same browser (MSIE).

So did any one figure out how to get rid of that annoying orange box when doing a search on Limewire? (P.S. My first post on here - be gentle)

No I couldn't get rid if it, but we will let you know if anyone has success with it...:rolleyes_2:

I wonder… do the developers read this forum? If so, do you think they might be inspired to remove¹ this ugly message? If they don't read it, is there another, perhaps better way to get feedback to them — that users would prefer to not have to keep seeing this msg. banner?

1. by remove, I mean figure out a way to have it appear for a set period of time or number of viewings, and then go away.

Please has anybody found a way to remove the orange banner ? It is really annoying and it would be of a lot of help if i can find a way to remove it ??
