Where do I stand

I have disabled the file sharing as posted above, now what is the legality of downloading from the internet, my son has been downloading alsorts and I have just started to download stuff that I have on record as its a lot quicker than ripping them from the record player, so in theory I am just backing up material that i have paid for.....ta:idea:

i have limewire 4.18.3 and it won't let me uncheck sharing in the options/sharing menu. i removed the folder from shared folders box but in the legend the box that says 'folder is fully shared including all subfolders' I can't remove the check mark. with this box checked am I sharing files even though i removed the folder from the shared folders? equally importantly, am I 'discoverable'?
