i have been using limewire with no problems until 2 nights ago, suddenly my connection is being blocked by a firewall. Last night i had no trouble connecting again, but you guessed it, tonight im being blocked by a fire wall again and cannot connect. What is happeneing, ????? Im computer illiterate, so be gentle ..lol

system details, xp home, zone alarm firewall, 512 ram 75% hard disk, ethernet broadband, dsl 302G, connecting from house. limewire 4.9.23 pro, java 1.6.0_01, my provider is optus, I have done the test and its fine, i have a brick wall showing , yet last night i had no trouble connecting and nothing has changed. i have been using limewire with no problems up till now, and am not sharing computers or programs, i have avg virus and i live in australia, I have shut down the firewall to see if it made a difference and it didnt help at all

Could it be your server has put the block on you to prevent from opening the link? (cybercops)

Have a look at your ZoneAlarm firewall and see if you have it configured properly User Cant Connect - LimeWire

You could also try deleting your preference folder and see if that helps...
Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should

Java could be a possibility as well so you could try uninstalling your Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....

If those solutions don't work what is the make and model number for your modem/ router ??
