I am then told reinstall then uninstall and if does not work contact limewire, there is no information on uninstalling,so I need help because I keep getting a box telling me about the file problem. thanks in advance. |
This is how you uninstall... Uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer...To find the offline installer, use the link below > cancel the installer window when it pop's up and then select the offline installer link... Lime Wire » Download LimeWire Just one thing did limewire keep opening all the time even when you closed it down ?? |
uninstall thanks wondering why,yes every time I turned the computer on up came limewire,I will follow you instructions to uninstall. I will reinstall limewire on my new computer and by then I will have a better understanding of its quirks. thanks again. |
You wont thank me when I tell you that you have a virus that causes limewire to continually pop up...But it is easy enough to get rid of... Just follow the direction in this link...;) http://www.gnutellaforums.com/231269-post141.html |
I can't install Limewire Pro. I'm being told I already have it in the system. I thought I had uninstalled beforehand but it seems it was not totally uninstalled. I've been told I now have a corrupted file. I've done a search and tried to delete everything under limewire but some of it I can't delete. Short of throwing the lot out of the window, what else do you suggest? before I commit Harry Carry! |
Try Birdy's tips in this thread...;) http://www.gnutellaforums.com/269411-post2.html |
I accidentally uninstalled a Full Version of Limewire does anyone know how I can get it reinstalled without aving to pay again? |
Unless you deleted it, it should still be in your program files. Go to C:\Program Files\LimeWire\LimeWire.exe, and double click it to run the installer. If you can't find it, go to Start>Search>All Files And Folders, and search for LimeWire. Then double click on LimeWire.exe. If you did delete the installer, you can redownload it from your PRO Download Page by entering the e-mail you used to purchase it with here: http://sales.limewire.com/support/pro_lookup.php. If your PRO Download Page has expired, you'll have to purchase it again or download the Basic(Free) Version. Lime Wire » Download LimeWire |
Pissed off, I know how you feel. I had the same exact problem. Limewire has hundreds of entries and they are hard as hell to get rid of for sure. This worked for me: 1. Go to search for files enter limewire and search. ANYTHING that says Limewire delete it. Do this at least three times, and reboot between searches. Delete delete delete limewire! 2. Download a FREE version of Registry Crawler 4.5 [free for 30 days]. Enter Limewire in Registry Crawler in "type" and "register" Search and Delete every entry you can find. 3. If you have any registry cleaners installed [CC Cleaner or ect] run them. After you delete everything you can find, Reboot. Registry Crawler gets all the entries, even the ones that are hard to find. Try download the newest version of Limewire. If this still does not work, forget Limewire and download Frostwire, it is better anyhow. Good luck!! |
