i inadvertantly paid £55 for limewire, tried to cancel it and failed. How do i install limewire without having to pay for it again. Any advice greatly appreciated

Sorry you got ripped off.
Limewire basic is free So try it, Get used to using it, then if your happy & it runs well on your system, get the pro version.

Now!! Use this link to download latest L/W version using the off line installer

Check your java version before you install Limewire the latest java JRE 1.6.u1 & u2 are not working well so roll back to this one.
Now! Go to,
START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs,
now completely remove all versions of java.
Re BOOT Your computer NOW.

Now! Use this Blue Link to get "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 12" Use the off line installer, NOT the (recommended) one, 4th one down.
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5
When Download is completed.
Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps n reinstall java.
