Try this:

Open the folder with your files in it(in windows, not LW). Right click a file and click on Properties > then click on "Change" > choose "Windows Media Player" from the list > click OK > Apply > OK. Do that for each file type you want to change.

How to set the Default applications

Im going to Windows explorer, c drive, and finding the folder with my videos and the file with music. When I right click and go to properties there is no "change" option. Im looking under all 3 tabs. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Oh my word! It looks like that under each individual file. You mean I have to change each one seperatly? Theres not a way to make wmp my default?

No you don't have to do each file. You should only have to do it once per file type. If you change one mp3 file then all your mp3 files will be changed. Same for mpg files and avi files. you may have to do it three or four times, but that should be it.

You could try going from your desktop to Start > Set Program Access and Defaults, and change the settings there.
