Default Why do I always have to re-download Limewire?

hello, I am new to these forums. My question is whenever I turn off my computer and the next time I am on it again I always have to re-download limewire, I just dowloaded the latest 4.14.8, and I have never had this problem before. Can anyone help me?

Thank you!
All answers are appreciated!

What security programs are you using? People have had this problem with Pest Patrol antispyware...are you using any antispyware that could be deleting LW's .exe file?? Check out post #6 onwards here.

What security programs are you using? Had you installed or upgraded any security software at the time that this started happening?

What's happening to cause you to have to reinstall LW? Are you getting any error messages?

The only security I have is "McAfee" Security.
and there are no error messages, it's just everytime after I turn off my computer and I go back on it later the Lime slice thing that is on my desktop is gone and it is that white rectangle page thing, and it says something about needing to install it again, sorry I don't remember the whole thing that it says.

Sorry that isn't much help, I don't know how to explain it. I feel pretty stupid, and useless to try and help my own problem.

I'm a bit stumped Are you downloading the offline installer for LW? When you go to the LW download page & click to download, a dialog box pops up...cancel that & then use the option to download the offline installer.

Or try using the 'other' installer.
Installing using the 'other' installer

Do you have an old LW installer saved, so that you can try reinstalling an older version & see if this still happens?

If this still keeps happening, I think there must be something on your computer that's corrupting LW somehow.
No spyware, No to offline installer, I haven't tried the other installer, No no other saved version, and thanks for the help
Thanks to you too Lord Of The Rings I will try it!

I believe McAffee Security now uses PestPatrol, though it may now have a different name. The answer is to put LimeWire on its safe list. Else disable it & use another such as ad-ware (FREE) or/& Spybot - Search & Destroy (FREE) for adware & spyware checking.
