u have not been reading whole thread, ty for the tip of finding my library though...

my problem is as followed, i lost my files through an auto install of a newer version (dang it) did i perm lose them???

i DON't want itunes or ipod things, i want my files to be played by windows media player cos thats why i lost them in the first place (i figure)

can somebody help me with this; files bein played by windows maedia player and not by itunes

Try this....

Go to your shared folder (outside of Limewire) you will find this folder by clicking on one of your files in your LW library and clicking explore...

Right click on one of your MP3 files
Select open with
Select choose program
select WMP
and tick the box that says always use this program to open this file type
Select OK

thanks for the help , got it set right now

do you also know why limewire made an auto update and therefore losing all my media files???
do you know where to locate them, they're no longer in my shared folder....

That I don't get, that shouldn't happen...
Try doing a computer search for one of the files that have disappeared if you can remember one and see if it pops up...
Also just check your recycle bin...

If you still have no luck try one of the suggestions in this sticky...
