Windows users should uninstall LW via start > all programs > Limewire > uninstall or C:\Program Files\Limewire\uninstall. If you've tried to uninstall via add/remove programs, that can cause some problems & in that case use your computer's search to look for all files & folders with limewire in the name. Delete what you find.

Are you getting these popups just the once, when you turn the computer on? Or are they popping up randomly all the time? If you're getting constant popups, sounds like you have a worm. If you do decide to use LW, always make sure that you're using a good AV program. Keep it updated & use it to scan all files that you download before you open them.

Whomever you are...(was it Australia?)...I thank you very much. I was able to find it with your help...I think anyway and have, again I think,
successfully unistalled it. I failed to mention that I indeed am running Windows and was fortunate that you assumed (perfectly) that I was.

It was only popping up on startup so I didn't think I had a worm as you suggested. It was just bugging the sh*t out of me.

I"m not a very good Internet user but I usually muddle my way through, especially with help from good people like yourself.

Actually LimeWire looks kinda cool and like something I might like to learn about and try sometime in the future. Maybe you could direct me to the easiest place to learn about this type of...I guess it's some type of file sharing program... for some cool stuff to do in my spare time. Doing these Forums is something I haven't done for a long time either.

And if you do start using LW & don't want it starting up as soon as you turn on the computer - tools > options > advanced > system startup. Untick 'run on system startup' > apply > ok!!
