To aid helpers in solving download/upload problems, LimeWire and Frostwire users must specify whether they are downloading a torrent file or a file from the Gnutella network. Members need to supply these details >>> System details - help us to help you (click on blue link) Moderators There are senior members on the forums who serve as Moderators. These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent.  hi. newb w/a problem (error after installation) so first off id like to say hi. my name is kisa or delighla, which ever you prefer. im having trouble downloading the new version of limewire. at first it said that my current version was still running, and it wasnt. so then to eliminate the problem i uninstalled it. but it still said that it was still running. and then it says something about an error opening a file....and if i install it anyway i get this at the end of instalation: LimeWire version 4.12.6 Java version 1.5.0_08 from Sun Microsystems Inc. | Hi kisa,  Did you uninstall thru add/remove programs? That can cause problems. The right way to uninstall is via start > all programs > limewire > use the uninstall option there. Close LW & make sure it's properly closed...check in task manager (ctrl/alt/del). If there's a LW process running, end the process. Now uninstall LW. After that, use your computer's search to look for all files & folders with limewire in the name & delete what you find. Your Java version's a bit old, try updating it to this version. Download the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions (via add/remove progs) before you install this one. Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 Once that's done, reinstall LW & make sure to use the offline installer (when you click to download LW, cancel the dialog box that pops up & you'll see the option to download the offline installer). |
