budbobob is flying high
Default budbobob (firewall issue?)

purchased limewire 11/13/07 and added it to my exceptions, turned off firewalls and have NEVER had it work. Now i have removed it from my computer, reloaded it, logged into the site but cannot downlowd music. I have read your forums and followed instructions and still cannot use this service.

I am using windows xp home edition. firewalls come from mcaffee, and microsoft windows. i have turned both off. my system is intel pentium4 cpu 3.00ghz, free space is 125.65 GB. I use a motorola modem through comcast.net. i have a broadband connection and i connect from home. limewire version is 4.14.10. my internet provider is comcast but i get to it from internet explorer.

First try with limewire was 11/13. waited till it posted to band to prove firewall would go away. it did not. mcaffee is the security program provided by comcast.

Limewire HAS NEVER WORKED on my pc. please help

Budbobob

You have not revealed the model number of your modem, I say this because most modem/routers have built in firewalls and the only way to get LW and your modem/router to work together is to perform a "port forward" (configuration) exercise specific to the make and model of your modem.

The following link will take you to the PORT FORWARDING website, from there you will have to find the make and model of your modem/router.

PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall

Good Luck
