well if explorer.exe is closed down then the file hopefully can't freeze the computer when you try deleting the file.

First turn off your internet connection. Then turn off all running programs including Antivirus and such.

Now turn on cmd.exe using the run command Start->Run cmd.exe and press enter.

Open task manager, go to processes tab, right-click on explorer.exe and choose "Stop process" then choose stop anyway when Windows says it could be dangerous.

Now type cd.. and press enter in the command prompt until you end up at C:\

type cd Users and press enter. then cd Danny enter

type DELTREE Incomplete and press enter. And hopefully the Incomplete folder will disappear now.

As for the recycle bin, that can't be done that way. You will need to navigate into the recycle bin same way as above and only delete the file. I think the command for that is DEL filename. Make sure you type the complete filename.

If this doesn't work then let me know exactly what happens. If it works then just go to start new process in task manager and write explorer.exe and press enter, then turn on Antivirus and other necessary programs before connecting to the internet again.

there is also a file of the same type in the recycle bin, it seems to be the ones that was downloaded before the updated version of limewire, because the one in the recycle bin won't delete.

What if i downloaded the full thing, then deleted the full thing, what do you think?

It booted up in Safe Mode With Command Promt, explore was already closed down, internet on, programs like anti virus open, deltree didnt work, i dont think its a vista command, used del, works, now i need to get to the recycle bin as c:/ dosnt work with it, its more complocated, i cant restore the file either, it freezed

Well first one down then :)

I think the recycle bin is at C:\Recycled but very important to not delete it. just navigate to it and then delete only the file

danny-r February 3rd, 2008 04:41 PM

That didn't do it either

i did

cd..
then
del recycled

which is basicly what i did with the other one

Sleepless February 3rd, 2008 04:52 PM

Well you aren't supposed to del recycled

type cd Recycled and press enter

then del filename and enter

(filename being the full name of the file e.g stupidfile.avi)

danny-r February 4th, 2008 10:33 AM

Maybe some other user that uses Vista knows where recycled/Recycle Bin is located. Maybe try posting that question in General Vista Support - Gnutella Forums

Sorry I can't be of more help, but if it isn't at C:\Recycled then I have no idea where it is.

Is there no folder with a picture of the Recycle Bin at C:\ ?

Could be they just changed the name.

Use this program to delete all files from the recycle bin, Click the download, run, extract to desktop, open the other folder which is now on the desktop, then run it, nowt opens up but the bin is now empty

RecycleNOW - empties your Recycle Bin instantaneously
