Thanks for the help....

so, if I understand you correctly, i should only use Limewire for downloading music, not for playing it? Use windows media player instead?

another problem has crept up today---every few minutes a new web site pops up in a new tab---all are advertizing and nothing I'm interested in; how is tis happening and how can I stop it????
