Unnecessary rudeness from LimeWirePRO tech help!

:confused:Hello...I am new to this group, but cannot seem to get any answers for my current problem with LimeWire PRO. In fact, I feel the tech who answered my request was downright rude. Here is what I wrote (and this was a second request on my part after waiting for over a week):

"Hello! I just renewed because I got a renewal notice, but the version I am being offered is one I already have. Also, I think I actually renewed EARLY. Will I still get credit for me whole six-month contract from the last time I renewed in February? When will me new contract date start? Thank you! THIS IS MY SECOND REQUEST ASKING FOR HELP. I HOPE SOMEONE WILL ANSWER THIS TIME! I THOUGHT THE PRO VERSION INCLUDED TECH HELP. PLEASE RESPOND!"

---------------------------------------------------

PROBLEM: Other Issues

OS: Windows_XP_home_edition

LW VERSION: 4.18.3

CONNECTION: DSL

JAVA VERSION: Java_1.6

LAST PURCHASE: 2008-07-27 18:12:09-04

I'll admit I was, and still am, frustrated with not getting a response to my first query, but here is the answer I received from my "second request":

Quoting service@limewire.com:

"If you send ANY further messages, like the one below, you will get NO
FURTHER SUPPORT. We appreciate your PATIENCE.

Thanks,
Zenzele"

Now, I don't know what anyone else thinks, but I think that was quite uncalled for and very rude. I have been a supporter of LimeWire PRO now for a very long time and have only asked for help on a couple of occasions. Maybe Zenzele was having a bad day, but PLEASE, would it hurt to be a little more professional? I believe I have a legitimate complaint here and would appreciate hearing what anyone else has to say about it and if anyone else has received this kind of "help".

Thank you!

I can see why you feel frustrated, but we really can't help you here because we are just volunteers offering p2p advice...Actually most of us here have never had any correspondence with anyone from Pro tech support...

That being said, most of the people that use Limewire Pro end up comming here anyway for advice because they don't seem to get it through the support they are promised when they pay for Pro...

My opinion: stick to the free basic ;)

I'm curious to see your first request for assistance. :) Purely out of curiosity.

Normally when you are nearing the end of your Pro support, they will send an email, I think at beginning of last month, then each week or something. Also on your Pro download page over the last month it will state your support is nearing an end.

You will have received an email reply with a link to your new download page for Pro.

* Remember to Bookmark your new Pro download page. Then check it periodically. Also if you see any update warnings whilst using LW, never click the update option else you will end up with LW Basic. Only get updates from your Pro download page. ;)

Unnecessary rudeness from LimeWire PRO tech help!

Hello Lord of the Rings:

Thank you for your response. Yes, I did get an e-mail with a notice that my term was about to expire. That is why I renewed, but I had just updated and my updated version is the same as the version they wanted me to download after I renewed. That was what "sparked" my questions. The following is my first note to them, as you said you were curious to see it, and their answer, which was fine, follows:

"Hello! I just renewed because I got a renewal notice, but the version I am being offered is one I already have. Also, I think I actually renewed EARLY. Will I still get credit for me whole six-month contract from the last time I renewed in February? When will me new contract date start? Thank you!"

"The LimeWire Tech Support Team has received a copy of this email. Soon you will get a response on this Issue.
Thanks."

As you can see, the first response was "as expected"...quite civil and polite. I then waited for over a week and made my request again, only I wanted them to know that I wasn't going away and would require an answer. If I knew how to get in touch with this person's manager, I would. I don't think Zenzele is cut out for this type of work! I dug through my papers from a couple of years ago when I originally signed up and found a phone number which I have phoned and had to leave a message. We'll see if that brings any help at all.

Thanx, again!

MERI

Hello, Wondering Why...Didn't mean to skip over you. Thank you for your help, as well. If I'm going to be treated that badly, I just may go back to LW basic, as you suggest. We'll see what happens. I just thought that when you paid for something, the tech would at least make an attempt to help. I am quite disappointed and wonder where this person, Zenzele, learned his or her manners. I guess the sad fact is that he or she never did learn ANY manners...right?

Peerless August 4th, 2008 02:20 PM

the sad fact is that the whole concept of support from LW is a farking joke...it would be a very cold day in hell before I ever paid for that worthless 'product'....

PEERLESS, what do you suggest as a good program to download music? Thanx for whatever you can help me with. MERI

Lord of the Rings August 4th, 2008 02:43 PM

Personally I use a combination of Phex, LimeWire for music, & Azureus for other items. ;) Though even better options are available via torrents such as lossless music on occasions. I use Phex because it reaches other gnutella program clients not only LW users. Whereas LW mostly only finds & downloads from other LW users. LW also greatly biases Uploads toward other LW users, which is unfortunate since there are so many other gnutella programs & users out there. So Phex is great for those harder to find files in particular. ;)

For torrents I definitely favor Azureus (mac/windows), though there's other good ones out there for Windows users too.

Peerless August 4th, 2008 03:22 PM

I've found Phex to be a much better client than LW....I always connect as an ultrapeer and get good search results...

Meri051846 August 5th, 2008 11:35 PM

Thank you, Lord of the Rings and Peerless! I will check out the programs you suggested.
