limewire (email address not recognised, paid £43 for LW)

Hi
Not sure were to post this

Think my daughter has just paid to join what she thought was limewire, she paid £43

but cannot get on the site the email they sent doesn't let her log on nor can she find anyway of cantacting them as it says her email address is not valid, has any one any ideas what she can do.

If she paid £43 for LW then she was scammed

Which site did she pay for LW? The only official site for download is: Lime Wire » Download LimeWire
LimewireLLC will appear as the vendor, on your CC statement. LW Pro costs $21.95 (~ £14) for 6 months worth of email support & updates, $34.95 (~ £22) for a year's worth. Basic LW is free.

If you bought Pro from somewhere else - apart from paying too much, you'll find that you won't be able to download any updates from the official site... your email address won't be in their database.

Tell your daughter to contact her bank/CC company & report this... they might be able to stop payment & will tell her if she should cancel her card. There's more info in the links below.

If she wants to use LW, the basic version's free.
There's hardly any difference between Pro & basic anyhow - Pro lets you download from a couple more hosts & connects to 2 more hosts for searching. Unless she's searching for rare files, chances are she wouldn't even notice the difference
