Limewire billing practices

I've been "subscribing" to Limewire for several years now. I'v' "upgraded" my membership via credit card several times here on this desktop computer. Lately I've been getting the "upgrade now" message for $34.95. I swear I paid for an upgrade less than a year ago. The problem is the performance has gone to "pitiful". Is this how Limewire works - if you don't upgrade, the performance degrades? The reason this appears to be true is that I recently download "the basic" free program on my laptop, and it runs a LOT better than the current paid for version on my desktop.

What gives?

Check your CC statement to see when you bought Pro. Did you take the 12 month option?
Does your CC statement show LimeWireLLC as the vendor?

Lots of people have been a bit unhappy with LW's performance in later versions. If basic LW's working better than Pro - stick to basic! There's not much difference between the 2 anyway
